POSITION OVERVIEW
PCC has an opening for an Audio Visual Specialist. This opportunity is ideal for an individual who is motivated to excel at their work and provide superior customer service. The Audio Visual Specialist will have overall accountability for the delivery of all audio visual solutions in a planned, organized and timely manner.
SPECIFIC DUTIES
Pre-site activities
- Review project delivery dates and prepare for site activities
- Understand the end goal on behalf of the client
- Compile all documentation to include technical drawings, schematics, elevations
- Review ordered parts and products
- Maintain a tool and small parts kit for project and field support
On-site activities
- Locate and organize all product
- Collaborate and work with all departments as required
- Terminate network, AV power and commonly used AV connectors
- Work with operations team to ensure structured cabling is installed ready for hardware
- Perform basic on-site programming and system testing
- Field support, diagnose faults and repair
- Daily reporting of site activities
- Inventory control before, during and after project completion
- Document all changes and requests effecting the project
- Work outside of role to ensure the integrated solution is completed on time
CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
The preferred candidate will possess the following skills and attributes.
- 3 years commercial AV installation experience
- Industry recognized AV certification – Crestron, Extron, Avixa (Infocomm)
- Experienced field support technician
- Basic programming experience
- Certifications gained with industry manufacturers – Polycom, AMX, Cisco switching, video conferencing and audio
- Read and interprets plans
- Trade certifications – WHMIS, elevated work platform/scissor lift, first aid
- Flexible, organized, professional and presentable
- Good customer service and manner when interacting with others
- Prioritization of asks with creative problem solving
- Technical competency
- Willingness to cross train on all products and services
