Imagining better
Located in downtown Calgary, Livingston Place is a two-tower premium office complex. In 2007, Provident Energy began to fit out the construction of 180,000 square feet in the West Tower. As a company that has grown through mergers and acquisitions, flexibility for re-organizing the office space was a key consideration in the planning and design phase. The design included demountable wall partitions, a plug-and-play power solution and a zonal plug and play data system
Better connections
RapidNet was suggested by PCC Integrate as the ideal data system to accommodate the needs of Livingston Place’s first tenant, Provident Energy. After several product and vendor reviews by Provident Energy, PCC Integrate, and the RapidNet solution were selected. PCC then planned, designed, supplied, and installed the solution.
Better outcomes
As with most construction projects, significant changes to both design and construction occurred throughout the fit-out phase. PCC Integrate capably worked with Provident through all of these changes and continuously provided effective solutions to new problems and alternatives to initial plans. A total of 1920 Cat6 network outlets, 360 6-port consolidation points, and 120 duplex fiber ports were installed.
Better future
In the years following installation, Provident underwent a prominent change which resulted in significant configurations to all 10 of their office
floors. Provident Energy reported that “having a modular setup has saved [them] hundreds of thousands of dollars in construction costs and has
fast-tracked all of [their] office change.” Through all these changes, PCC was there to provide design ideas and to implement the necessary changes. While Provident Energy was the initial company at Livingston Place to invest in the PCC Integrate solution, the number of companies who have subsequently occupied the space, and taken advantage of the solution is now into the double digits.
In addition to the direct cost savings on materials and labour to support moves, adds, and changes, there has also been significant time savings. The PCC Integrate modular system allows for office space edits to be completed efficiently with minimal disruption to business operations.
